Step 1

Upload your file

Drop in a large image or PDF — posters, photos, worksheets, tabloid pages, or A3 exams.

All processing stays on your device.

Step 2

Choose paper & tiles

Pick Letter, A4, or another size. We handle the math for scale, overlap, and layout.

A tile is one printed page.

Step 3

Export and print

Download a print-ready PDF with labels and cut marks, then print at 100% scale.

Ready to print at home.

FAQ

Questions fréquentes sur l'impression mosaïquée à la maison.

En cas de doute, commencez avec un petit layout puis augmentez.

Is SmartPrint a browser-based web app?

Yes. SmartPrint runs in your browser and supports large images and PDFs. You do not need desktop software to tile oversized files across multiple pages.

What counts as the free limit?

Smaller layouts (up to 4 tiles) are free. If your layout exceeds that, you can either pay $2.99 for a one-time export or activate an unlimited time pass.

Do you store my files?

No. Your images and PDFs are processed in your browser. SmartPrint does not upload or store your files.

I paid, but I did not receive my PDF. How can I retrieve it?

If payment succeeded but the PDF did not download, the browser may have been refreshed or closed during checkout. For privacy, SmartPrint does not upload or store your PDF, so we cannot recover the exact file from our servers. Your unused one-time export should still be available if you reopen SmartPrint in the same browser. Contact support if you need help checking the payment.

What is DPI?

DPI means dots per inch. Higher DPI means sharper prints. SmartPrint keeps output crisp for large tiled PDFs.

What paper sizes are supported?

You can print on Letter, Legal, Tabloid (11×17), A3, A4, and A5. The tool auto-detects common source sizes like A3 and Tabloid.

Should I print at actual size or fit to page?

Always print at actual size or 100% scale. Fit to page shrinks tiles and makes alignment harder.

Do I need to trim borders?

Trim only in seamless mode. Window-pane mode keeps a thin border so you can align pages without cutting.

What printers work best?

Most home inkjet or laser printers work well. Letter is the most common in the US, while A4 is common elsewhere. A3 paper lets you use fewer sheets.

Will printing use a lot of ink?

Large tiled PDFs use more ink than a single page. Use standard quality and test a small print if you are unsure.

How do I align the tiles?

Lay the tiles out first, follow the row and column labels, and tape from the back for a clean front edge.
