Why split PNG or JPG instead of scaling

Desktop apps can resize an image to one page, but that shrinks the content. Splitting keeps each region at printable scale so the assembled poster matches your intended dimensions.

SmartPrint runs entirely in the browser — useful when you cannot install poster software on a work or school machine.

Tile labels map to a spreadsheet-style grid: column letters and row numbers match the physical layout on your table.

Step by step

  1. Upload your PNG or JPG (files stay on your device).
  2. Set the final poster size in millimeters or inches.
  3. Pick a paper size and let SmartPrint calculate rows and columns.
  4. Export the tiled PDF and print each page at actual size.
  5. Tape or glue the sheets together using tile labels.

Pro tips

  • Rename exported PDFs with the project name — helpful when printing multiple posters the same day.
  • For AI-generated PNGs, export at the highest resolution available before uploading.
  • If edges look tight, add 5–10 mm overlap in the editor before export.

Common questions

PNG vs JPG — which should I upload?

PNG for flat graphics and screenshots; JPG for photos. Both tile the same way once dimensions are set.

Maximum file size?

The editor accepts large files up to the limit shown in the UI (typically 50 MB). Very wide images may take longer to process locally.
