How many A4 pages for a poster?

Sheet count equals rows × columns. Use these common A4 grids to plan ink, paper, and wall size before you export a tiled PDF.

Common A4 sheet counts

2×2 portrait A4 → 4 sheets, about 420×594 mm before margins.

3×3 portrait A4 → 9 sheets, about 630×891 mm (near 24×36 in).

4×3 portrait A4 → 12 sheets, about 840×891 mm before margins.

Printer margins and overlap slightly reduce the usable image area, so treat these as planning sizes.

Fewer sheets are easier to assemble but may undershoot your wall size. More sheets refine the fit and preserve detail.
